AI Powered Language Education Inter-stream Webinar

On Tuesday, May 2nd the language teachers from both streams gather together to attend an AI webinar aimed at enhancing language education. The 90 minute session was led by Joe Dale, an independent ICT/MFL consultant based in the UK. During the session, we explored a wide range of state-of-the-art AI tools and techniques that can revolutionize language instruction, particularly in French, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. Joe started by providing an overview of large language models such as Poe and Mizou. He stressed the significance of prompt engineering using frameworks to effectively guide these models. He then proceeded to demonstrate practical examples using various tools that can be seamlessly incorporated into our teaching and learning practices either to support the Teacher’s planning or to help our Language learners improve their language skills.
