PLEASE NOTE
To confirm a student’s place, a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of HK$25,000 towards tuition fees is required. The deposit will be taken off the first term’s tuition fees.
Tuition fees are the same across all campuses.

Rules and Procedures relating to Tuition Fees
ADMISSION:
Offers of admission are emailed to parents, who must confirm their acceptance by email and send proof of payment of the HK$25,000 deposit, which will be deducted from the first term’s tuition fees.
The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
PAYMENT:
Invoices will be available on the parent portal after the start of each term. (We also accept one annual payment.) Every term a student begins must be paid in full.
All payments must be made by direct debit. The direct debit authorisation form must be sent to the school when the offer is accepted.

Debentures
To confirm your child’s place at FIS, you need to buy or hold a debenture. One debenture covers only one student.
The French International School “Victor Segalen” Limited is a non-profit company under the Hong Kong Company Ordinance, established and managed by a board of elected parents. By purchasing a debenture, the debenture holder agrees to become a member of the Association and be subject to its Articles of Association.
There are two types of debentures
CORPORATE DEBENTURE (CATEGORY A)
- If a company will pay a student’s tuition fees, that student must be covered by their corporate debenture.
- The debenture must be held by a company registered at the Hong Kong Company Registry.
- A mature corporate debenture (held by a company for at least one year) provides an admissions priority.
- This debenture is fully redeemable* and transferable,** subject to its terms and conditions.
- The current price is HK$250,000.***
*The debenture is refundable either when the student leaves FIS or when they are covered by another debenture.
**The corporate debenture can be allocated to another student for a non-refundable administrative fee of HK$5,000.
***The price of the debenture is subject to review at any time by the board. The applicable price will be that which is in effect on the day of payment. The issuance of debentures is subject to the prior approval of the board.
PRIVATE DEBENTURE (CATEGORY B)
- This debenture is fully redeemable,* subject to its terms and conditions.
- This debenture is not transferable.
- This debenture is for families paying for their children’s school fees themselves.
- The current price is HK$125,000 (Fully refundable nominal value of HK$120,000 and HK$5,000 non-refundable allocation fee.*** (Subject to EDB’s approval)
*The debenture is refundable either when the student leaves FIS or when he/she is covered by another debenture.
***The price of the debenture is subject to review at any time by the board. The applicable price will be that which is in effect on the day of payment. The issuance of debentures is subject to the prior approval of the board.

- A payment proof for HK$250,000 (the payment must be made by the company with the debenture, as indicated on the Business Register).

Debenture Redemption
Whatever the debenture category, the debenture holder/s (as indicated on the original certificate) is, or are, the only person or people authorised to redeem the debenture. Payment will be issued to the Debenture Holder’s name(s) only. Therefore, the name of Debenture Holder, stated on the debenture certificate, must correspond to the full name(s) must match the full name(s) of the beneficiary of the bank account on the bank account provided.
The full value of the debenture can be redeemed once the student’s departure has been confirmed and all outstanding bills have been paid. Any unpaid monies will be deducted from the value of the debenture.
NOTE FOR CORPORATE DEBENTURES:
- Each company or organisation can only redeem up to three debentures per school year.

Financial Support
Each year, the following forms of financial support are available for study at FIS:
FRENCH STREAM
- school grants from the French government
INTERNATIONAL STREAM
- five corporate debentures sponsored by the Thierry Dubois family
- two merit-based scholarships for students entering Year 12
SCHOOL GRANTS FROM THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT*
These school grants are for French students living abroad with their family, who have limited financial means.
They are allocated each year from the AEFE budget, which is approved by parliament.
There are two rounds of applications for financial support each year, one in January and one at the beginning of the school year.
*FIS is not involved in organising or allocating these grants. Families should direct any queries and their applications to the French Consulate General of Hong Kong and Macau.
The second funding round is for:
- those who have recently moved to Hong Kong
- those whose financial situation has significantly changed since the end of first funding round
- those appealing a decision from the first funding round

FIVE CORPORATE DEBENTURES SPONSORED BY THE THIERRY DUBOIS FAMILY
Five corporate debentures have been generously sponsored by the Thierry Dubois family for students applying for entry to the international stream.
PROCESS AND DETAILS:
- Follow the normal admissions process for the international stream.
- Applicants who receive this sponsored corporate debenture will also benefit from priority on the waiting list.
- The applicant’s family will not have to buy a private debenture once they have been allocated a place.
Continued sponsorship will be subject to the student meeting the conditions set by the Thierry Dubois family.

TWO MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS ENTERING YEAR 12
Two scholarships are also available for students with excellent academic results entering Year 12. They are for students who pass the FIS admissions assessment for entry into Year 12. They will be extended into Year 13 subject to academic and financial review at the end of the first year.
Though priority for financial support will be given to students entering Year 12 in the upcoming school year, students applying for Year 13 will also be considered.
THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL FULLY OR PARTIALLY COVER THE FOLLOWING EXPENSES:
- debenture
- tuition fees
- compulsory school trips and outings
- enrolment in one FIS extracurricular activity
FIS will waive the admissions assessment fees for external candidates applying for this scholarship.
HOW TO APPLY
- Complete the form.
- Email the requested documents to scholarship@g.lfis.edu.hk by the deadline indicated on the form.
- All shortlisted candidates must attend an interview with the Head of the International Stream and the Head of Secondary, International Stream.
Applicants will be advised of the outcome by the end of March.
