Kindness Week at TKO Campus
When we think about sustainability, we usually think reduce, reuse, recycle. But sustainability is about so much more than that! It can also be about kindness , generosity and consideration. Putting other people’s needs before our own. We share love and feel loved too. Approaching the world with this kind of mindset is beneficial to others, good for our own wellbeing and mental health, and brings alive UN Sustainability Goal #3; Good Health and Wellbeing.
How do we celebrate and spread kindness at school? Students across our school community will be taking part in Kindness Week from 20th-24th February. At the TKO campus, the students’ office has designed a few special activities to celebrate:
Kindness Week Competition
All students can participate and here are the steps –
Step 1: Students will be able to create their own poster about “What is Kindness?” Submissions may be turned in until 22 February.
Step 2: We will print the posters and vote for the best expression of kindness based on creativity, inspiration and message. The winner will be announced on 24 February and the poster will be printed and displayed at the school.
Kindness Actions at School:
Kindness through words of appreciation
During the week, a letter box will be displayed in the playground and all students can join by writing a thankful note or paying a compliment to someone.
Kindness through gift giving
Part of our actions is also to have the Kindergarten students prepare a gift for the Secondary students to cheer for them and show support for their upcoming school exams.
Kindness through gestures using the Kindness Wheel
A big hit with the students is our Kindness Wheel. The secondary students will entertain the children with spinning the wheel game during lunch recess. The wheel will indicate an act of kindness that they will need to do before the end of recess so we can inspire all students and spread kindness to all.
Kindness through our eyes and positive energy
Shakespeare said “The eyes are the window to the soul” as they express our deeper self and touch other’s souls too. Smile with your eyes, share your positive energy with others, it’s contagious!
Kindness Matters. Good health and wellbeing matters. Not only at TKO Campus but all campuses and in our homes and local communities.
Let’s spread kindness and support each other’s health and wellbeing.
This beautiful and meaningful kindness week was designed and will be conducted by TKO Student’s Office. Huge congrats and bravo for putting this project together!
