Staff Spotlight: François Louatron

Issue 50: 19/1/2024 Strategic Objective: ,

The Staff Spotlight series was introduced to both recognise the hard work of our staff who go above and beyond throughout the year, as well as introduce them to the wider school community, outside of their respective stream or department.

Each issue of Le Bulletin will shine a light on our talented and supportive staff from across the entire school (Leadership, Early Years, Primary, Secondary, French Stream, International Stream, Administration) with some “fun facts” and a Q&A that will allow the community to get to know them on a more personal level.

This week, we are delighted to introduce one of our new teachers, Mr. François Louatron, who joined the pedagogical team this year.

Fun Facts

Q&A

  1. How long have you worked at FIS?
This is my first year at FIS, I started in August 2023.

  2. What do you think is the most unique thing about FIS?
The precious diversity of the community (students, colleagues, staff, parents, etc.)

  3. What is your favourite thing about being a teacher?
Being the first witness of the students best punchlines. Joking aside, being part of the building of their critical thinking, that’s an honour as much as the biggest responsibility.

  4. What hobbies / interests do you have?
An homogenic cocktail of music production, bouldering,  video games, rhetoric and geopolitics

  5. What do you like most about living in Hong Kong?
It’s the feeling of living in a beautiful and wild two sided jungle by the sea: one concrete side, one green side.

  6.  Favourite type of food or cuisine?
Any kind of homemade food prepared and shared with family or friends.

  7. Favourite book or movie?
I’d like to name a fancy independent movie or very inspiring book but…definitely as a movie, Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back since I was a child, and Zaï zaï zaï zaï from Fabcaro if I had to pick a book.

  8.  If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why?
Time Freezing ability. To do far more all the time.
