Staff Spotlight: Mounia Plisson

Issue 51: 26/1/2024 Strategic Objective: ,

The Staff Spotlight series was introduced to both recognise the hard work of our staff who go above and beyond throughout the year, as well as introduce them to the wider school community, outside of their respective stream or department.

Each issue of Le Bulletin will shine a light on our talented and supportive staff from across the entire school (Leadership, Early Years, Primary, Secondary, French Stream, International Stream, Administration) with some “fun facts” and a Q&A that will allow the community to get to know them on a more personal level.

This week, we are delighted to introduce one of our new teaching assistants, Ms Mounia Plisson, who joined the pedagogical team this year.

Fun Facts

Q&A

1. How long have you worked at FIS?

I have worked at FIS for 1 year.

2. What do you think is the most unique thing about FIS?

It’s certainly the children’s development. They are at the heart of everything we do at FIS, and their well-being is the school’s number 1 mission.

3. What is your favourite thing about being a teacher?

I’m lucky enough to work with 3-year-olds, and for some of them, starting school for the first time was a bit difficult, but I’m so happy to see them walk into the classroom happy and smiling all the way! What makes me even happier is running into them in the street and hearing them shout my name with big hand gestures.

4. What hobbies / interests do you have?

I love cooking with my children, which is always a great way to share, and going for walks to explore Hong Kong’s neighborhoods.

5. What do you like most about living in Hong Kong?

I’d say safety first and foremost: children grow up in a secure environment, and that’s priceless. Then I’d say having the mountains and the beach just 10 minutes away! We’re privileged!

6. Favourite type of food or cuisine?

I love Italian and Lebanese cuisine! Nothing beats a real Italian pizza or a succulent mezze that takes you on a journey!

7. Favourite book or movie?

“The Little Prince” without hesitation! It’s a book I read as a child, and it made a big impression on me!

8. If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why?

To be able to teleport everywhere and with whomever I want to visit my family and travel all over the world!
