Wall of Icons – Collaborative Project

Issue 65: 31/5/2024 , Strategic Objective: , , , , Blue Pool Road Notices (Upcoming Events) Y12, Y13, 1ère, Terminale

Keira, Tiffany, Mengli and Mattis are behind the Wall project and in recent months, the four of them have been working on 32 French and Hong Kong icons that symbolise both our culture and that of the host country. From many photographic researches, they selected those that represented the most emblematic images of Hong Kong and France.

Through stencil technique, precise cutting, simulation on canvas with Eicó paint, 100% sustainable and responsible… they also guided other high school students (in premiere , year 12 and 13) to confront together this monumental long-term project, and this mural of 240 x 600 cm at the main entrance of BPR. The Wall of Icons  is a visual celebration that highlights the richness of these two cultures that helped shape the institution’s identity. It embodies the creativity and commitment of our high school students who collaborated to create a memorable work of art and significant. It’s a great achievement, and a wonderful collaboration project between the two streams and young artists! Congratulations to all!

This exhibition is also done in collaboration with the local organisation Make It Work Hong Kong which helps the most disadvantaged in Hong Kong. Each artist with a big heart, has committed to make a donation to the NGO to raise funds and allow the acquisition of a unique composition.

What will be your favourite icon? Bruce Lee, Mona Lisa, Tour de France, Hong Kong Ferry… Come visit this wonderful exhibition and do not hesitate to make a donation or acquire one of the productions to support the Arts for a good cause.

If you wish to make a donation, you can scan the QR code available on the poster and use the PayMe application (the minimum price for any acquisition is set at 888 HKD). Here is an overview of the projects that will be illustrated during the exhibition.
