SVT students’ field trip to the Tai Tam mangrove swamp
There are 63 mangroves in Hong Kong, but only one on Hong Kong Island: the Tai Tam mangrove, declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest by the government in 1975.
On Monday May 6, 2024, students in Première specializing in Life and Earth Sciences (SVT) were able to experience this magnificent environment, under the guidance of their teacher Mr. Rascalou.
By carrying out scientific fieldwork, the students were able to discover the structure and functioning of this unique ecosystem, as well as the invaluable ecological services it provides to human populations.
