BPR Lunchtime Concert Series

Another round of rousing applause for our amazing lower secondary BPR rock bands, singers and classical musicians who performed bravely to full house of two lunch crowds at Blue Pool Road 7th floor canteen, Thursday 20th June 2024, 11 30 – 13 30!

The music of The Cranberries “Zombie” (5e band), The White Stripes “7 Nation Army” (Y7D band), Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” (Y7CD band), Wiz Khalifa “See you Again” by Marcus Yung (Y8B – vocal), Edith Tsui (Y8B – pianist), Ipshita Somani’s (Y8B – vocal) interpretation of 2 songs – “Let it Go” & “I see the Light”, Maria (Y7C) and Talia’s (Y7D) duet of “On the Ground” by Rosé. The three growing Y9AB bands with lead singers Chloe Kai (Y9A), Noa Grislain (Y9B), Lilia Ganchev (Y9B), Aahana Gosain (Y9A), Devika Tiwari (Y9A), Aashi Mohapatra (Y9B), Daniel Au-Young (Y9B), supported by Ally Iu (Y9B – drums), Angie Au (Y9B – bass guitar) & Alba Chellew (Y9B – drum/bass guitar/keyboard/vocal). Ending with a finale of karaoke – “All of Me” by 5e students & “Shallow by 6e students.

The end of the year is always bittersweet, with a heavy heart and parting tears, we say goodbye to all our lovely and committed FIS musicians who will be moving on, especially to Mounira Normatova (Y9B – bass guitarist) who has always performed at every BPR lunchtime concerts and FIS music events! Thank you Mounira for your dedication, support to music, and participation! All the best in your new adventure! We will miss you very much!

Special thanks to Mr Cheong and Mr Costantini who are always there for every practice, lessons, musical support and set up; and all students helping with set up – moving the instruments and carrying speakers! Thank you everyone for your participation! We are looking forward to many more bands, singers and musicians performing in 2024-25!
