About the French International School

Established in 1963, the French International School (FIS) is the oldest international school in Hong Kong and was the first school in Hong Kong to offer the IB (in 1988). It is a dynamic educational institution, which welcomes over 2,700 students from around the world. It offers both French and international curricula and is one of the largest French schools in Asia.

FIS currently operates four campuses, next year all of which will accommodate students in the International Stream. Regarding the three primary schools, one is surrounded by greenery in Jardine’s Lookout and another campus is by the sea in Tseung Kwan O and the third is a beautiful campus in Chai Wan.

FIS is a private, not-for-profit organization. In the last five decades, it has grown from a small school with 35 students to one of the most renowned international schools in the region. Its students are from 40 countries speaking some 30 languages – it is a truly multicultural learning environment.

FIS operates two streams, French and International. The French Stream follows the French national curriculum and has approximately 1700 students. The International Stream follows an English and Mathematics curriculum based on the English national curriculum and also the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) leading to the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) in years 7 and 8, then to IGCSE and finally the International Baccalaureate in Years 12 and 13. It currently has over 1000 students registered. In 2020/21 the international stream successfully went through the IEYC/IPC Accreditation process.

Job Description

The French International School (FIS) is seeking a dedicated Admissions Manager to deliver an exceptional customer experience to prospective families mainly in the French Stream. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and take responsibility for all aspects of the customer journey to ensure a smooth transition. We are looking for someone who is proactive and forward-thinking with the ability to thrive as a team player, highly motivated manager and will bring energy, drive and initiative to achieve the school’s admissions goals. We are inviting applications for this post commencing May 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for attracting and recruiting prospective families to our four campuses to meet the school’s yearly admissions targets
  • Plan, organise and deliver successful admissions events including open days, admissions fairs, networking events and entrance assessments
  • Ensure the admissions processes at FIS are administered promptly and effectively
  • Be the first point of contact for enquiries into the French Stream and ensure that applicants receive a positive impression of the school at all times
  • Ensure prospective students and parents are guided and encouraged through the admissions process in a professional, helpful, friendly and efficient way
  • Provide outstanding customer service via email, telephone and face-to-face communications ensuring all admissions activities are on-track, as per the customer journey map
  • Ensure every student joining FIS has the appropriate welcome and onboarding information
  • Manage waiting lists and maintain the Admissions database at all stages of the process
  • Routinely and rigorously monitor and analyse admissions data and report to the Director of Admissions on each stage of the Admissions process on a regular basis
  • Develop innovative, creative and effective solutions to share with the Director of Admissions to address any admissions concerns and for timely action to be taken
  • Ensure the effective management and compliance of the Admissions Officer
  • To undertake any task reasonably required by the Director of Admissions
  • Collaborates with the school leadership team, including the Principals and Heads of Departments, to align admissions strategies with the school’s mission and goals.
  • Saturday work may be required, but only infrequently
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to interact with students
  • Ability to sustain a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
  • High level of relevant experience in customer service and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • High levels of computer literacy, competent user of Microsoft/Google packages and databases
  • Absolute discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Fluency in French and English (oral and written) is a must
  • Familiar with the French Curriculum, and experience with schoolings in Hong Kong and aboard is preferred
