At FIS, we are a multicultural school, offering diverse curricula built upon values of global mindedness, critical thinking and personal development.
Our mission is to energise young minds, prepare independent and compassionate life-long learners and inspire our students to achieve their full potential.
We reach our goals by providing a collaborative and stimulating bilingual learning environment where all members of our community are valued and respected.
At FIS, we nurture students’ intellectual curiosity and creativity. Students are encouraged to advance their own critical thinking and set of values based on global mindedness and appreciation of others.
Our curricula give students the opportunity to grow their self-confidence and acquire enduring and transferable skills.
We aim to develop proactive learners, willing to be academically challenged to achieve their highest potential, enhance their life options and thrive with resilience.
Our students are also invited to be active participants in the community through a commitment to service, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Our team members have the shared goal of making our students successful, by taking into consideration each learner’s individuality.
Our professionals are recruited for their expertise. We seek a diverse group of specialists dedicated to elevating our student’s learning process with empathy and support while also acting as role models.
FIS offers continuous professional development to ensure our teaching team is up to date with the latest learning trends.
We foster collaborative work by enabling the sharing of best practices among teachers from the French and international streams.
At FIS, we focus on the physical and emotional wellbeing of our students, ensuring they feel safe, so they can learn and blossom.
French and English bilingualism is at the heart of the FIS learning experience, with our most recent campus in Tseung Kwan O designed to facilitate bilingual dialogue, collaboration across streams and innovative teaching approaches.
Both streams offered by FIS are recognised by top-ranked education institutions worldwide and the French curriculum has been approved by the French ministry of education.
FIS provides a holistic education, offering a rich and varied selection of extracurricular activities designed for our students’ personal growth and enjoyment.
Throughout the year, our dynamic community brings people together around events which celebrate and inspire FIS students.
Our community interacts with each other with respect, in line with the FIS code of conduct. We also show our appreciation of Hong Kong, our host city, and its culture.
Positive and supportive parental involvement helps our students succeed, so we make a wide range of volunteer opportunities available to FIS parents.
Our community is honoured to have generous long-term partners supporting FIS projects and fundraising work.
FIS is a non-profit association established in 1963 under the Hong Kong company ordinance law. All debenture holders are members of the association, represented by an elected board of directors who themselves appoint the board chair. The Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau acts as the honorary president of the association.
The board has strategic responsibility for the school, ensuring its long-term financial stability and defining its vision.
The board empowers and delegates authority to the leadership team regarding the design and delivery of the school’s pedagogy and development plan, which is aligned with the school’s vision and takes into consideration the interests of the FIS community.
FIS governance aims to build and inspire trust. Solid policies, risk management and transparency are key to this philosophy.
