Spring Creative Arts program by Art & Play Studio: The children will celebrate the beauty of spring by creating a mesmerising glowing rainforest board.
Over the course of 5 days, students will embark on an artistic journey. On the first day, they will draw organic habitats, taking inspiration from simple black and white imagery found in discovery, inspiration, and reference books. This will serve as a foundation for their creative exploration. On the second and third days, students will add vibrant colours to their drawings, using pencils to lightly sketch the rainforest scenery. They will also have the opportunity to experiment with lightweight cardboard and white glue construction, creating additional plantlife pop-outs and adding dimension to their artwork.During the final two days, students will focus on adding intricate details to their dry painted cardboard pieces. They can use glitter sticky foam, mixed-media components like pom poms, circle stickers, buttons, oil pastels, washi tapes, patterned papers, and more. These elements will bring their rainforest to life with texture and visual interest.
To complete the project, students will layout their cutout “creative collection” of rainforest plants, black and white creatures, and dimensional habitats on a horizontal, pre-painted black cardboard.
