The sanitary crisis does not prevent the organisation of cultural meetings at the Blue Pool Road library !
Our four classes of Première met Jacques Ferrandez, author of a comic book adaptation of « L’Étranger » by Camus.
Jacques Ferrandez spoke about his transposition of the story into images, a work that is faithful and loyal to Camus’ work. Native of Algiers himself, he has accurately transcribed the atmosphere and setting of the Algeria of his parents contemporaries of Camus.
Jacques Ferrandez explained to our students his editorial choices: from the writing of the script to the sketches, the research of period documents, the drawing, and the colouring.
It was a wonderful meeting with an author who is passionate about a universal work.
Students of Première will thus prepare the second part of their French BAC oral. On the day of the BAC, the students will be asked to present one of the eight works studied during the year, including « L’Étranger ».
This project brought together the Literature Department and the librarian teachers.
